Mindful Self Defense for Women

In an effort to bring more diverse educational offerings to the lifestyle community. Club Ascension presents – Mindful self-defense for women. This is a 3 week class for women and those who live and identify as women.
With a ‘holistic’ approach to self-defense, this course teach awareness, assertiveness, safety strategies and physical techniques that enable women to successfully defend an attack and escape dangerous situations. The physical techniques are drawn largely from Yoshinkan Akido (training in which is required for the Tokyo riot police), an art focusing on timing and balance more than speed or strength thus allowing practitioners of any size to defend against bigger, stronger attackers.
Tommy Nugent is a second degree black belt with fifteen years of practice in Yoshinkan Aikido and Zen mindfulness training. He has delivered hundreds of educational and personal development presentations across the country since 1998.
Cost of this class is a one time fee of $30.00 per person and covers all 3 consecutive weekly Thursday evening classes. Beginning on 10/12, 10/19, 10/26
Class time is 8:00pm – 9:30pm
Minimum of 10 per class to a maximum of 20. We are purposefully keep class size down to allow more personal attention from the instructor. We will break this into 2 seperate classes if the need requires.
